New DBA Tools for DB2 for LUW , includes Instance Manager, Storage Manager, Security Manager and Session Manager.

Instance Manager  : New enhanced features

• System Configuration -  You can view Server component values.
• Registry Parameters – All the DB2 registry settings are displayed.
• Database Parameters – A list of all DB2 database configurations.
• Database Manager Parameters - DB2 Server Database Manager configuration parameters are captured here.

Storage Manager  : New Functionalities

• Visualize and maintain storage parameters.
• Tree View – You can see the entire database structure in a tree view of objects, such as Table spaces, Buffer Pools and Data files including the path, size and usage.
• Allocate Space – A new option to allocate space to Table spaces,  Buffer Pools and Data files.

Security Manager is another new feature in Aqua Data DB2 UDB which provides a simple view of Users and Roles. This is designed specifically to:

• Create, alter, drop and view Users and Roles in a Server.
• View authorities for Users and Roles.
• View database access such as Table space and Schema privileges for Users and Roles.
• Generate permissions for Users and Roles across all objects in a database .
• Provide a simple tree view of Users and Roles.

Session Manager is Aqua Data Studio’s latest feature which provides manageability of database sessions including user and system locks. This tool can quickly identify locks and avoid unnecessary overheads. The various parameters that are captured in this tool are:

• Sessions - shows Sessions as a tree.  You can view Session Details, Current Statement which is getting executed and the Execution Plan.
• Session Statistics – You can see Session details and Session Parameter values.
• Locks – New option to see Lock details for User Locks and System Locks.
