New DBA Tools for MySQL, including Instance Manager, Storage Manager, Security Manager and Session Manager.

The Instance Manager provides instance-wide server statistics and information.

• Variables - Current mysql global and session variable values
• Status - system-wide global and session usage statistics
• Charsets - Character encodings available on this server
• Collations - Character encodings available on this server
• Plugins (starting MySQL 5.1) - Components installed on the server

The Storage Manager contains information about the amount of data contained in the database.

• Databases - Total storage used in each individual database
• Engines - Database Engines available in this instance
• Table Status - Individual table summaries with usage breakdowns
• Open Tables - tables currently open

Security Manager is another new feature for DB2 UDB which provides a simple view of Users and Roles. This is designed specifically to

• Create Users and Roles in a Server
• Alter either a single User or group of Users and Roles
• Generate authority and privileges for a Role across all objects in a database
• Provide a simple tree view of Users and Roles

Session Manager is Aqua Data Studio’s latest feature which provides manageability of database sessions including user locks. This tool can quickly identify locks and avoid unnecessary overheads. Session Manager allows the user to monitor and kill sessions. The various parameters that are captured in this tool are
