As you are developing your project solutions, you may find the need to perform database (DB) access in your AquaScripts. The Servers tab lets you register and manage DB servers and then access them within your AquaScripts. On this page:
The Servers tab lists all servers in the current project to which you have access to. Servers can be grouped to help organize them, just as they can arranged in Aqua Data Studio. Individual servers or groups of servers can be moved from one folder to another.
Folders are provided so that you can organize your Servers as you choose. Folders work similar to the way they function in your Operating System (OS). You can create, rename and delete folders and move Servers into and out of folders. Similar to the OS, if you delete a folder all sub folders and servers registered inside the folder get deleted as well.
Moving server connections across folders can be done by clicking on the Move icon in the Actions column of the servers table.
A list of the existing folders will appear. Clicking the link for a folder moves the items into that folder.
The Import Server button opens a dialog for importing server registartion settings (.conn files) from the file system. The Import Server action in Aqua Data Server is designed for uploading .conn files from Aqua Data Studio. These files are typically located in the <USER_HOME>\.datastudio\connections folder on the local hard drive where Aqua Data Studio is running.
Click on the Browse button in the Import Server dialog to browse to the location of the desired .conn file as shown on the screenshot below.
The imported server connection will be placed in the location specified by the "File Location Information" section at the bottom of the dialog.
You may import only a single Server .conn file at a time. If you would like to upload several Server definitions consider using Import Project Package.
NOTE: DB Server passwords are stored in an encrypted format in Aqua Data Studio's .conn file. When you import a DB connection, the DB Server password is not saved. Instead, you need to edit the imported server and specify the password again.
You can create , edit, move and delete Servers, similar to the way you would manage files in your OS. You can also view the contents of a Server by clicking on its name. This will provide you a read-only view of the Server Registration dialog. If certain actions are not available, then you do not have the necessary project permissions.
The Register Server action allows you to register any server that is supported by Aqua Data Server. Aqua Data Server supports all databases that are supported by Aqua Data Studio and provides a nearly identical interface for server registration.
Server registartion is specific to the type of database server selected, and the input fields vary depending on the database vendor and version chosen.
Below is a list of all of the Supported RDBMS Connections by Aqua Data Server.
