Redesigned Compare Tools (Revision #56)

With Aqua Data Studio 7 comes a completely redesigned interface for our Compare Tools, now sporting a cleaner GUI as well as integrated version control. Visual indicators let you see exactly what has changed all the way down to the character level. You can also customize the highlight colors used to mark changes to suit your own preferences.

Features Overview

• Match changes from one editor to another. An improved display using colored splines visually shows changes that spanning different lines.
• Line numbers are now in the center divider, as well as a tally showing the number of changes. An annotation bar next to the vertical scroll bar shows a birds-eye view of the changes.
• Changes are highlighted at the character level within a modified block of text. You can even define the colors for changes (added, deleted, changed) yourself.
• Save the comparison as HTML, including an option to show highlighted changes within the modified block.

The Compare Tools interfaces have been completely reworked, with a cleaner GUI and integrated Version Control in-line difference indicators in all the editors.

Editor Difference Pane : New features
 

• Visual indicators – New option to match changes from one editor to the other.
• Display – New style difference display with visual alignment using splines.
• Line numbering – New option to indicate line numbers are shown in the center divider. Also shows current change and the number of changes as X/X
• Birds Eye View - Annotation bar next to the vertical scroll bar shows overall view of the changes.
  Compare option in Tool bar – New option button on the diff panel. This includes - color selection (added, deleted, changed).
• Coloring – New option to show the character differences in a modified line. This helps you to identify individual changes (words, characters) within modified block using highlighted text.
• Saving- New option to Save As HTML. This has a comparison preview in the HTML differences of a specific file. Save to HTML option produces highlighted changes within modified block

Schema and Script Browser now feature ’Compare’ pop up menu when two files, directories, or schema tree nodes are multi selected.
