Logging Enhancements (Revision #27)

The new Help Window now contains a log viewer and a console to assist in application troubleshooting. Now, instead of having to use the operating system’s console or terminal, users can view events as they happen in this new console, without leaving the application. The new Log Viewer records and accumulates entries logged only after opened from the Help Window. This new Help/View Log menu option invokes Log Viewer dialog which works independently of the normal log file.

• Filtered by log level.
• Intercepts stdout, stderr, and uncaught exceptions in the Console tab
• Contents of Log Viewer and Console can be copied to Clipboard.

By default, a rolling file logger is always enabled to ~/.datastudio/datastudio.log

This logger is configured to write up to 3 files of up to 300KB each, using "%d{M/d HH:mm:ss.SSS} %C{1}.%M %m%n layout.
