Multiple Selection : Single-click solution

• Several objects can be acted upon at once using Ctrl + click or Shift + click. Right-clicking on selected objects displays new Scripting options available with the latest release of Aqua Data Studio.

Database enhancements : 3 new actions

• You can now Script, Compare and Delete multiple objects.

Scripting enhancements : New with ADS version 7.0

• New Sort and Filter enhancements in Multi selection – you can now decide which objects you want to script, delete or compare.
• New options include displaying Status information, Stop on Error, Termination and appropriate Error Messages if any.

The objects to be scripted or deleted don’t have to belong to the same server or be the same type of objects. If some of the objects are not scriptable, for example folders, they are skipped when the objects are being collected from the tree. It helps the user to select multiple object with one click, without worrying about selecting right objects. Deletion of non scriptable objects is not supported.

The objects to be scripted or deleted are collected into a dialog which allows the user to sort and filter the objects, so only those objects get scripted or deleted and in the chosen order. Once the user clicks OK and If the operation is Delete, the user is prompted if they are sure that the want to delete the objects. Once the operation starts,  a status bar and status information is shown to allow the user to monitor the progress of the operation.  The operation can be terminated at any time by clicking on Cancel button. The user can also choose to stop the operation if an error occurs, by clicking the checkbox "Stop on Error" prior to performing the operation.

If the operation is scripting, scripts for successfully scripted objects appear in the selected destination, such as the current window, a new window or a file. Successfully deleted objects are removed from the tree. The user can now review the results of the operation such as error messages, and close the dialog.

The Compare operation compares 2 objects of type Server, Database or Schema. The 2 objects don’t have to be the same type to be compared. This operation works in the same way as if the user selected Tools->Compare Tools->Schema Compare and selected those 2 nodes. If either Server node is not connected, the user is prompted whether the connection should be established.
