The size of bars and shapes can be resized in the following ways:
When a measure is placed in the Size Deck, Visualization displays a Size Legend for that measure below the Color Properties Deck. The Size Legend displays a range of values with their allocated sizes. The smallest size represents the smallest value, and the largest value represents the largest size. You can edit the range and size allocation using options available in the Edit Size dialog.
The following options are available in the Edit Size dialog box. To edit assigned sizes, click Size Deck > Size Theme > Edit Size.
From the Sizes Vary drop-down, select one of the following options:
Automatic - From Zero | Automatic - By Range |
---|---|
The mark size range lets you adjust the size allocated to the range. Move the smallest mark size range slider to the left to increase the size for the smaller values and move the largest mark size range slider to the right to decrease the size of the large values. The smallest mark size range slider is disabled for From Zero, and Automatic sizes vary options. You can immediately see the slider adjustments in the sample legend. This area shows you how the bars or shapes in your chart would appear once you apply the settings.
Swaps the size allocations and assigns the largest size to the smallest value and the smallest size to the largest value.
This option is disabled for From Zero, and Automatic size vary options.
You can select the start and end values in the legend check boxes and modify the range values.
If the entered value is more than the original start value, then Visual Analytics appends the value with “<=” operator in the size legend. This means all values below the entered value would be assigned the same small size. Likewise, if the entered value is less than the original end value, then Visual Analytics appends the value with “=>” in the size legend. This means all values more than the entered value will be allocated the same large size. The below screenshot explains the difference between the original and edited settings.
When you use the Size slider, Visual Analytics adjusts bars and shapes to the desired thickness. In the Line Chart, you can use the Size slider to adjust the thickness of the line. Unlike the Bar chart, you cannot place measure directly in the Size Deck.
