You can use the Size Deck to resize bars and shapes of a chart. To use the Size Deck, in the Chart Properties Deck, click Size Deck. The Size Deck is available in Bar, Symbol Map, Shape and Line charts.

You can resize bars and shapes of a chart in the following ways:

• By placing a measure on the Size Deck: When a measure is placed in the Size Deck, Visual Analytics displays a size legend showing the range and size distribution of the measure below the Chart Properties Deck. To edit this distribution, click Size Deck > Edit Sizes.
  
• By using the Size Slider: You can change the thickness of bars or shapes uniformly by adjusting the Size Slider in the Size Deck. Here, a size legend is not displayed. To resize the slider, click Size Deck > Size Slider.

Size Legend

When a measure is placed in the Size Deck, Visual Analytics displays a size legend for that measure below the Color Properties Deck. The legend shows a range of values with their assigned sizes. The smallest size represents the lowest value, and the largest size represents the highest value. You can edit this range and size distribution using options available in the Edit Size dialog.

Sizes Vary

From the Sizes Vary drop-down, select one of the following options:

• By Range: Shows variation in size relative to the minimum value of a set. The smallest possible size corresponds to the minimum of the visible data points. This is often chosen to highlight internal differences in a data set. To adjust the smallest and largest possible point sizes, use the left and right sliders.
  
• From Zero: Shows variation in size relative to zero. For example, the values -20 and 20 would be the same size. The smallest possible size corresponds to a data value of zero. This is often useful for data sets containing both positive and negative values. To adjust the largest possible point size, use the single slider.
  

Mark Size Range & Sample Legend

You can specify a start and an end value for the size range. When you move the smallest mark size range slider to the right, the size of the smaller values increases and when you move the largest mark size range slider to the left, the size of the larger values decreases. You can immediately view slider adjustments in the sample legend. The Sample Legend area shows you how the bars or shapes in your chart would appear after setting the size range. 

The smallest mark size range slider is disabled for From Zero, and Automatic sizes vary options.

Reversed

Swaps the size allocations and assigns the largest size to the lowest value and the smallest size to the largest value.

This option is disabled for From Zero, and Automatic sizes vary options.

Start & End Values in Legend

You can specify a start value and end value for the size legend. 

If the entered value is more than the original start value, then Visual Analytics appends the modified value with “<” operator and assigns the smallest size to all values below the entered value.

If the entered value is less than the original end value, then Visual Analytics appends the modified value with “>” operator and assigns the largest size to all values above the entered value.

Size Slider

When you use the Size Slider, Visual Analytics adjusts bars, shapes, and symbol map to the desired thickness.

For the Line chart, you can use the Size Slider to adjust the thickness of the line, but you cannot place a measure directly in the Size Deck.
