Block Selection

Like many of the popular IDEs developers are accustomed to, Aqua Data Studio now allows block selection of text. Clicking the Block Selection button in the Editor Toolbar lets you drag a selection rectangle around a single character or multiple columns of characters anywhere in the editor.
 

CTRL Highlight and Copy Functionality

While holding down the Ctrl key you can use the mouse to click words to select them. The highlighting displays a blue hyperlink-like underlined text. Press the keyboard letter 'C' to copy the selection, position the cursor at the desired location and paste it using keyboard 'V'. This is a quick way to copy and paste values and reduces the mouse click by 1 click. This feature works only if the Ctrl key is pressed.
 

Text Wrapping

When using the Table Data Editor to edit fields with many characters, the text now wraps in the "Edit in Window" by clicking the Wrap Text button. Text Wrapping is found wherever you find the Query Editor, making it much easier to view and change long character strings.
 

Status Bar: Selected Character Count

To find out how many characters are currently selected in the editor, hover the cursor over the status bar.
 

Unix/Windows EOL ( end-of-line ) Indicator

You can visually check what type of end-of-line ( EOL ) sequence is being used in the current document: either LF ( Line Feed ) for unix/linux, or CR+LF ( Carriage Return + Line Feed ) for Windows.
 

Find and Replace: Resolve Escape Characters

The Find and Replace dialog now has an option to Resolve Escape Characters as part of the Replace making it easier to use regular expressions for text replacement.
 

Editor Abbreviations: Clone

To quickly reuse and alter existing Editor Abbreviations, it is now possible to select one and Clone it.
 

Row Selection enhancement

You can now select lines by clicking in the line number sidebar and dragging, which extends the selection by full lines. This makes it a lot easier to position the mouse right at the start of a line.
