Aqua Data Server is licensed on a per-thread basis. The application can respond more quickly under heavier loads (more attempts at executing AquaScripts) when more thread licenses are purchased. The license parameters determine how quickly the application will notify a user that it had to wait to allocate threads as they are consumed and then made available. These parameters allow configuring a timeout measured in seconds, minutes or hours as the server waits for available license threads before a warning is displayed. All changes to system settings take effect immediately unless otherwise noted. See the License Management section for more on how to activate, add and remove licenses.
Timeout when license acquired for a GUI action (when a user uses Aqua Data Server web interface). Set as 5 seconds, 7 seconds, 10 seconds, 30 seconds or 60 seconds. If a license is not acquired within the specified amount of time a license exceeded warning is displayed to the user.
Timeout when license acquired for a scheduled action (when an AquaScript is executed by the Scheduler). Set as 15 seconds, 1 minute, 5 minutes, 30 minutes or 1 hour. If a license is not acquired within the specified amount of time, the scheduled AquaScript execution fails and an error is logged in that job's execution history. The log can be viewed by clicking on the job's name in the Project->Scheduled Jobs tab, or Admin->Scheduler tab.
