13. Quick Excel & Excel 2007 Support

Business Analysts generate reports involving calculations, graphing tools and pivot grids, and they usually share their results in spreadsheet format. To accomplish these tasks, users have to poll external databases, analyze the results, create a spreadsheet and e-mail these on a regular basis. Enhancements to Aqua Data Studio's Query Analyzer has streamlined these tasks by creating one click options to view the result set in a spreadsheet and email the result set as an Excel attachment. With AquaScripts, users can completely automate these tasks and email reports on a recurring basis.

How do I quickly send a selection from query results as a spreadsheet?

Use the View as Spreadsheet and Email Excel Attachment button in the Grid Results view.

A button in the Grid Results toolbar allows you to either View as Spreadsheet, or Email as Excel Attachment (with email smtp settings entered in File-> Options-> Email) the selected cells and rows in the grid.

Configurable Excel Format

Excel 2007 is now available as an option in "Save Results As" or "View as Spreadsheet", and as a format for generating Pivot Grid and Pivot Grid Charts. Files can be saved as .xls or as .xlsx. Anywhere you can generate Excel results or use the View in Excel Viewer feature within the application you can now select which version of Excel (2003 or 2007) you would like for your output from within File -> Options - > General -> General -> Default Spreadsheet Format.
