4.2.4 Email Service (Revision #0)

This section is for configuring the Aqua Data Server email queue service and SMTP server connection information used for sending out emails. SMTP Server information must be specified in order to send out emails to new users and use the reset password functionality.

All changes to system settings take effect immediately unless otherwise noted.

At application startup, email service is

Options are

• Paused: The email service will queue all emails to be delivered but will not send them to the SMTP server. 
• Started: The email service will deliver emails to the SMTP server.

 

Archive all emails

Options are

• Yes: If you want delivered emails to be saved in the email queue archive directory
• No:  If you do not want delivered emails to be saved in the email queue archive directory

 

Email queue archive directory

Where delivered emails are stored. If this field is empty, the default directory is <USER_HOME>/.aquadataserver/mail/delivered. Directory changes take effect at the next server restart. 'Archive all emails' must be set to Yes for this to function.

 

Email queue invalid directory

Malformed emails are stored here. If this field is empty, the default directory is <USER_HOME>/.aquadataserver/mail/invalid. Directory changes take effect at the next server restart.

 

Email queue outstanding directory

Pending emails are stored here until sent. If this field is empty, the default directory is <USER_HOME>/.aquadataserver/mail/outstanding. Directory changes take effect at the next server restart.

 

Retry send email interval in seconds

If communication with the SMTP server fails, the server will try to resend all emails in the outstanding directory after the specified interval.

 

SMTP Server Port

Sets the SMTP server port. (Required)

 

SMTP Server Host Name

The fully qualified name of the SMTP server. (Required)

 

SMTP Server Use SSL

Options are

• Yes: If you want emails to be delivered over Secure Socket Layer (SSL).
• No: If you want emails to be delivered in non-secure mode.

Check with your email service provider before enabling this option.

 

SMTP Server Use Authentication

Options are

• Yes: If you want to authenticate before sending emails using SMTP server.
• No: If no authentication required for sending emails using SMTP server.

Check with your email service provider before enabling this option.

 

SMTP Server User Name

If 'Use Authentication' is set to 'Yes', then the user name is required to log in to the SMTP server.

 

SMTP Server Password

Specify if 'Use Authentication' is set to 'Yes', and your SMTP server requires a password for authentication

 

Confirm SMTP Server Password

The password entered exactly as entered in the SMTP Server Password field
