For faster access to files, servers, AquaScripts and URLs, the Aqua Data Studio IDE allows creating and managing shortcuts within the application. Shortcuts can be created to Database Server Connections and properties of Server Connections available in the Servers Browser, SSH Connections, files from the Files Browser and AquaScripts from the Projects Browser. Shortcuts are stored in a user defined folder and display in the application toolbar. When a shortcut is clicked, Aqua Data Studio opens the appropriate editor or viewer for the content it links to. Shortcuts can be opened one at a time, or all at once when they are grouped in folders. If all shortcuts in a folder are opened at once each one opens in a separate tab.
Toolbar Manager
The Shortcut Toolbar can be managed and organized by right clicking the application toolbar and selecting Configure Shortcut Toolbar. Here a user may drag and drop shortcuts from one folder to another or create, reorder and delete folders. Individual shortcut properties can also be edited with a right click. By reordering shortcuts and folders, their display order in the toolbar can be changed. Altering items in the Toolbar Manager immediately alters what is displayed in the Shortcut Toolbar.
Support for shortcut folders
Folders allow grouping shortcuts for better organizaiton. Once several shortcuts have been placed in a folder, all of a folder's shortcuts be opened at the same time through the use of the right-click context menu "Open all in Tabs". As an example, all of a user's Oracle database connections can be opened simultaneously in seperate tabs with a single click.
Support for opening all shortcuts
Once shortcuts are grouped into folders, right clicking on a shortcut folder allows opening all of its contained shortcuts at once.
Shortcut support Database Servers, SSH Servers, Web Hyperlinks and Files.
Shortcuts can be made of Database Server Connections, SSH Servers, Web Hyperlinks and files. Web Hyperlinks and files from within the Files Browser or from outside of the application can be dragged into the toolbar.
