2. Perforce Version Control Support (Revision #34)

Over the past few months, we have got several feature requests for Perforce Version Control support, one of the most popular commercial versioning products. With Aqua Data Studio v10.0 we offer a powerful GUI with seamless integrations with Perforce. Users can now checkout a Perforce project in Aqua Data Studio with options to select an existing workspace or create a new workspace. You can also Mount a directory and configure Version Control properties to point to the Perforce Server. Many of the version control features found in the existing CVS and Subversion clients within the application can now be used for Perforce source control repositories. Commits, Updates, Forks, Branches and Tags can all be accomplished through the GUI. Perforce repositories can be associated with specific folders through the Mounted Scripts Folder path within a Datbase Connection's settings.

Perforce Support

Perforce integration functions include:

• Full client – Update, commit, delete, refresh, version control delete (delete from repository) and version control add (add to repository).
• Inline differences – Text editors for SQL, HTML, XML, text, JavaScript and Java support syntax highlighting and inline differences. Color-coded indicators instantly mark changes that differ from the local working copy.
• Branching and Tagging – Version Control functions allow for branch and tag creation directly from the file browser.
• Version Control History – Displays the repository history for a specific file or folder.
• File Search – Search for files in specified folders by name and file contents, and even across a subset of files found by a previous search.
