2. Perforce Version Control Support (Revision #69)

Included within Aqua Data Studio's unified source control console for CVS and Subversion clients is support Perforce source control repositories. With Aqua Data Studio v10.0 we offer a powerful GUI with seamless integrations with Perforce. Users can now checkout a Perforce project in Aqua Data Studio with options to select an existing workspaces or create new workspaces. Users can also use the option to Mount a directory and configure Version Control properties to point to the Perforce Server Repository.

Perforce integration in Aqua Data Studio v10.0 include:

Connecting to the Perforce Server    

 – To work with Perforce master file repository in Aqua Data Studio v10.0, you need to first checkout a project by supplying the necessary authentication information.

  Full Client Operations     

 – Mark for Add, Submit, Checkout, Delete from Workspace, Rename

Perforce Client Manipulations   

 – Move, Revert, Lock and Disconnect  

Version Control History  

 – Displays the changelist history for files. List of affected files (Added, Modified, Deleted) are displayed.

Compare to Base Revision

 – With Compare to Base Revision, working copy can be compared with the last revision retrieved from the Perforce Workspace.

Sync using Update

 – You can sync your local repository to the Server with the update option.

Inline differences           

 – You can use Text editors for SQL, HTML, XML, text, JavaScript and Java support syntax highlighting and inline differences. Color-coded indicators instantly mark changes that differ from the local working copy.

File Search  

 – You can Search for files in specified folders by name and file contents, and even across a subset of files found by a previous search.
